Holidays

Holidays and why they mean so much.

when you go on holiday its a time to reset those batteries that you spend all year draining. When you are booking a holiday it is like all you work for and look forward to all year. You and your partner or friend sit and plan work out how you will pay for it and that's all in the excitement the anticipation its all part of the process.  The feeling you get the week before you are due to leave, and if we are all honest most people finishing mentally the week before. The night before everyone is restless and excited singles going away with friends will have a few drinks, those that have been going away with families for the children it is like the night before Christmas. The next day its all rushing everyone cant wait to get to the airport the excitement that everyone is feeling is electric or not in some cases when the kids have already started messing around in excitement.
The plane ride is the longest, it always seems longer when you are on the way there and shorter on the way back, why is that? As you start to land you start planning how quick you are going to get off and get your luggage and get to the coach or the taxis to the hotel.  The drive to the hotel from the airport is the most amazing driver thing especially when it is light because you know that you will dump your bags and get as much of the day before you go to bed. That drive that anticipation of the next few weeks with no work, no having to get up early rush around, playing ships in the night with your family, hitting rush hour traffic hating every minute of your life at that point.
The walks on the beach as the sun sets the relaxing on the beach or beside the book with a good book you read at the side at the beach. The sound of the waves at the beach gets quite the meals you have has the sunsets and the memories you build and capture with video or by photos that you share on your social media channels to share with your friends. Excited about all the things you will learn this time about the place you have chosen to visit.

imagine never being able to go away, imagine never having left the area you live, imagine not feeling sand on your feet or learning about other countries from the experience of travel, how unliberating would that is? sometimes we take for granted the opportunities we have to travel. I ask every person who reads this blog to sit back and think what you yearly holiday means to you and what or how would your health and well-being stuffer if you could not access your holiday or even how would you feel having never ever having received that pleasure?
